Poppy Bagels

While I admit that all food opinions have an element of subjectivity, I believe bagels have a higher level than most. The best bagel very much depends on what you are looking for in a bagel.

What I want is a small, dense bagel that has a nice crust and that is salty and not sweet. It should be delicious by itself, although I think the best way to eat a bagel is with hummus.

My platonic ideal of a bagel is at Poppy's. I lived in New York for eight years and never had better.
